How to Fix Java Virtual Machine Launcher Error

Most of us do bump into diverse problems when operating our systems and we cannot deny the fact that those problems annoy us a lot. One of them is the java Problem. Frankly speaking, Java problems are the most disturbing problems in computers that compel some people to pulling their hair when being troubled by it.

What is Java Virtual Machine?

Java Virtual Machine Is an interpreter that translates java bytes into machine-specific instructions. The common problem/issue with Java Virtual Machine is “Java Virtual Machine launcher could not find the main class: program will now exit.” This error is very dangerous and confusing, with its error report details especially to a computer newbie. Although you can continue working, the error remains  annoying.

Solution to Virtual Machine Launcher Error

Step 1- The solution to this is not that difficult ,all you need do is to get started in inspecting for any malware that may have penetrated into your computer and now sits in there like the boss of the system. To do this, click on “start” and type mrt on the search box, then press “Enter” to launch a Built-in Windows Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool. Click “Next” and choose “Full Scan.” Then proceed by simply following the on-screen prompts to verify the scanning and remover of any present spyware and adware from your computer. After this, then reboot your computer for the operation to take effect.

Step 2- Click “start,” then type msconfig on the search box and confirm by pressing your enter key. This step is to launch your System's Configuration Utility.

Step 3- Click on “startup” tab

Step 4- Remove the check mark next to “wjview.exe” and “javaw.exe.”

Lastly, click “OK” and reboot your computer when prompted.

Why Can’t I find “WJView”?

This dilemma happens frequently on Windows XP. However, the problem might not be because you are using Windows XP operating system as well, not being able to find WJView might also occur after an imperfect uninstallation/ removal of a hardware known as WebSavings.  Finally, it may as well be caused by any software. Nevertheless, the major problem associated with this that occurs frequently is that of WebSavings/ TopMoxie. But the commonest reason why you seem not to find it is as a result of being absent from your operating system specifically windows XP even some Windows 7 do not entail these Java Virtual Machine thereby causing the absence of Wjview.

WJView is simply the Microsoft command-line loader for Java and it is a legit file. The beautiful part is that you won’t face the hassle of a new copy file extraction and downloading of Java VM.  Anti-virus and Adware removing programs removes the Java Class file without removing the startup entry referencing “WJView” this is why the error happened.

How do I Eradicate This Problem?

Click on startup and go to control panel Add/Remove programs. If this did not work, try this alternative: click start, run and type “Regedit”. Press OK. Then go to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Currentversion \ Run
In the right pane, delete the value called “WebSaingsfromEbates”
Close Regedit.

Delete the following folders and subfolders: C:\Program

Files\websavingsfromebates\ (include 3-4 subfolders) on internet explorer, you will also see a right-click context-menu item named “WebSavings.”

NOTE: If you reinstall MS Java VM, you are facilitating the adware to run properly.

Have You Been Educated about Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool?

I guess no. Well, the aged produced Microsoft security software ought to be respected instead insolence is what it receives in return. It is a free security software that comes with genuine running windows like: windows 7, windows 8, windows server 2012, windows server 2008, windows server 2003, and even the new windows 8. The sole aim of the software is to remove malicious programs/softwares from your system. Please know it that the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool do no prevent the computer from contacting viruses instead, it supports in removing contacted viruses.

The mentioned feature is actually what differentiates the software from an anti-virus software. Hence, in advice, one is expected to have a well updated the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal because in every new month an update is always produced and released for free by Microsoft. I am emphasizing on this program because, it is a very big rival to the existence of Java virtual machine launcher error, when it is well updated. It usually clears the computer of any incoming java error when scanned. Hence, it is a very good preventive measure to preventing the java error from those computers that are yet free from it.

When in search of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool in your system and the mrt typed in your search bar brings nothing, know that your windows do not entail the security software.

  2. Can't find any "mrt", so I just skipped that step. Went to the msconfig, startup tab, and there is no "wjview.exe" nor "javaw.exe".

    1. Start "run", type "wjview" and press enter. If you get an error reply, know that you do not have microsoft virtual machine. Malware is the result of the problem your system is encountering. And this is likely that most windows xp do not entails virtual machine and some windows 7.

  7. So I get the VM error, if run wjview and get an error (doesn't exist), ran the scan and there are 0 affected files. What is the problem then? Also above you mention to go to add/remove programs, but then continue into registry editing without direction as to what you want done in add/remove programs section. Thanks.

    1. Update: I just uninstalled Java and reinstalled a newer version. I read something about an older version possibly being 32 bit compatible only and possibly causing problems after W7 upgrades. Error is gone.
